I so much appreciate your honesty, sincerity and openness in your last email. This two are a good foundation to a lasting relationship, and I am happy we have started on a good note. I try to play golf when I am less busy, sometimes play pool at home as I have a pool board at home. As I could remember, as a kid I was a very cute one, lol. I grew up having more older friends. Many would confide in me. To tell you, I'm a type that doesn't judge. There is no Mr right until we make him right. A relationship is never about how much at the beginning but how much we could make it grow into. My grandma would tell me, if you aren't ready to feel or look stupid, then don't fall in love, lol. But sincerely that is the bitter truth. Before I lost my wife, she told me that the fact that something good ends doesn't mean something better can't start.
Can you prove that right? I have come to realize that, let a man write a better book, let him preach a better sermon, let him sing the best of songs, let him gain wealth beyond dreams, he is reduced to nothing except he has a woman to call, my wife, my best friend and co pilot. My usual saying, and I am known for it, is that. Life is simple, for those who take it simple. I don't like to complicate things. There is joy in every situation if you know the right angle to look it from.
I was waiting to meet my soul mate, then we will decide were the both of us will live. But I lived in a three bedroom rented apartment in Riverside California. I want to spend the rest of my life having fun. Would you stand by me to build a home? Would you smile at me when I look tense? But I did receive a message he was so stressed and couldn't sleep but I noticed he was playing Words with friends. I've contacted women who have him as a friend on there and they too have had the same questions by him.
I did a reverse image search and found him on a dating site under the name John, aged 53 and there was more photos of him. I noticed a name in one of the photos and did a Facebook search and it turns out to be a bridal shop in Italy and this guy was in the photos. He's stolen this guy's identity who looks to be a wedding dress designer and rich so he doesn't need to scam women.
Aug 19, Rating Watch out for the name Richard Mathisen by: Anonymous He claims to be a widow of 4 years, Norwegian oil rig engineer. Just went off to the Gulf of Mexico. Supposedly from North York, Ontario. My friends told me he was a scammer, before he had a chance to ask me for money. I blocked both his phone number and email address. The lesson I have learned here is not just off the dating site but not to talk to these people. Aug 19, Rating James and Kevin by: Anonymous First of all Thank You Kevin for putting your statement on because every word is true.
As For James, Oh he is good to believe me. I would say I slept wonderfully, and that would get him mad. There never will be another in his life.
He sent me many many songs and poems which the poems were always found on the net. We argued too a lot. As I said before he sent me a picture of welding under water because the pipes were leaking oil in the Gulf and it was a lot I guess according to him. How he will never share his love with no other women, that is what all Nigerian's say to you. So if you hear that phrase know it is from a Nigerian or someone in Ghana, as they use it all the time.
I Have read so much on these guys and it all goes back to Nigeria. Please take care, as these men are not worth the ground you walk on.
They are loser's who don't want to work for a living but scam women and men in the States. I talked to the FRSC in Nigeria and they said nothing can be done as it is not illegal for their men to do that. It's our fault for falling for it. I am so Leary of any request from a man and again I always look at the likes, it will say Austin Texas but every single like is from Nigeria, so check it out for sure.

It's what we call money laundering and you will go to jail. Remember most of these guys have two first names for their first and last, are widowed somehow or divorced, have one kid that lives with a nanny or Grandma. But when he comes to see you he will need money guaranteed.
And it will be guaranteed he will never show up. Anonymous Watch out for Dav on mate1. Aug 18, Rating James. Anonymous I've been with my cheater for over a year. I had a strange relationship with him. He did not get any money, he did not get expensive gifts. It was a strange relationship. I have his email address. I have his phone numbers. I had the impression that I am not being cheated, on the contrary I turn this man into someone better and better. Has any of you had that? Aug 16, Rating Baruch Shalev by: Ewelina I have become approached by a scammer. I have pretty good instinct and I knew from the start that the guy who is contacting me is very wrong. I decided to search and I am so glad that I found here similar history and someone else was contacted by the same guy.
This time he was trying to sneak under the different name but he is a total idiot as he sent me an e-mail in which he introduced himself as Baruch Shalev while the e-mail address was RobertoSchmit. This alone was enough to know he is laying. The story fits with Rob Schmit Oil Services scam who is searching for women on Linkedin and is reaching out to connect for other reasons than business. Another reason to not trust this scammer. And yes he introduces himself as a German- American who is a contractor for different oil companies and apparently he is the CEO now.
His life focus and dream is to retire and buy a house for millions of dollars in some exotic place. I contacted Linkedin, and will try to report to Cyber Security - but be aware he is there trying again and he may use a different name. Aug 16, Rating James Harrison by: Anonymous Less than a week into talking, I became highly suspicious. He stated being in Netherlands on a 4 year contract drilling. If I hadn't have found this site, I was going to truthfinder him. I hope you read through this blog and see the stories are all the same. Yes, we emailed shortly after he found me.
Anonymous Thank you for the post saying he is a scammer. I did want to believe him so badly but am glad I decided to go in here this morning and found your post. It is ending by me blocking him. Emmanuel Stephen gave me the exact same story. I fell for everything and he not only took my money but he has broken my heart. I have been suspicious of him for a long time but I had no proof. You may be the answer to my prayers as I just couldn't make myself let go of him if there was a chance he was real. He claims to be in love with me and I definitely am with him I just need some closure so I can get on with my life and put this behind me.
I have photos I would like to send you if I can. Again thank you so much for responding. Thanks so much to this site it is a lifesaver. Aug 12, Rating James from Aug 10 by: Anonymous Sounds like my scammer who stole most of my money being in contact with me for 13 months. Already disappeared one and half year ago. Similar problems to pay for, underwater picture of him fixing a pipe, yes remember that.
He called himself James too. He had no one to help, big contract and everything went wrong and always needing money. His mule was in China after some in US were investigated and had to return money to me then he stuck with a China woman mule. Photoshopped pictures, fake documents, fake bank account where he had money he could not get released and needing to pay huge amounts to get it released.
He was Nigerian mostly phoning with an unknown number, a couple of times with country phone code, maybe mistake not even knowing it showed. I am sure he is still scamming. He was very patient but sometimes too pushy. After he got most of my money and disappeared, he came back five months later asking for more saying that he left me with some money. Not his money but mine, never gave him more, could not afford bankruptcy.
Aug 12, Rating To the person who wrote James on August 10 by: Wiser Now Please tell us how the mule got arrested? I have mules too. Maybe your information will help in this. I am "Wiser Now " ask Steve for my email address and he will give it to you.
I too am a victim of oil rigger engineer scams and lost my shirt. Recovering but it is slow cause I need to replace my IRA so my nest egg will grow. When I helped the oil rigger engineer out he promised to pay me back when he got to America and of course it was all lies. If the lies were counted there were hundreds of them and if the promises that were broken were counted it was hundreds of false promises just to get me to send the money by Western Union and Money Gram.
But I need to know how you got the mule arrested please. He had many mules and it would be great to see them talk to save them selves. We have to stay to together as victims and I am on a Facebook page where there are over victims of oil rigger engineer scams and other scams mostly all women. How do they manage to get into our minds and hearts as they do? We can report them to Western Union and Money Gram getting the names black flagged and also turn it into the police department and go to Scam Haters and www.
But we need to band together as this is war on women mostly from the country of Nigeria. I really dislike Nigeria now. But if you are a victim get help and join a group and get support because it takes time to recover our hearts.
God bless you all and keep your chin up. Let us all fight back with the truth fighting their lies. Anonymous These two people are the same. That was the first "fishy" clue. He explained he misunderstood when he signed up. We texted for about 2 months. I got the same story: Sent me the picture of the check too. I also got the family pictures with the cute little dog. He also said his wife died in a car accident and daughter was living in the U. He said he was in love and wanted to be with me forever.
I knew it all was "fishy", but it was fun for a while. Texting with him kept my mind off things for a while. He asked for money twice. Both times I said no. This guy was good. I didn't give too much personal information, but he used whatever I sent him to reel me in. I knew in my heart it was all bull, but he was very good at "courting".
I kept trying to check out his story. He did have a LinkedIn page, I never signed up to check it out. I did look up the routing numbers on the picture of the thousand dollar check he sent me. They matched the bank address. The Chevron address matched.
Even the signature is a person who works for Chevron. These guys are good at what they do and they get us when we're vulnerable. Always be careful ladies!! He was my first scammer last year and I fell for him. I had met him on xing! Contact went on for 5 months, after 3 months he had gotten an order in Turkey.
Totally romantic correspondence, long phone calls, pleasant rough voice, pretends to work as a contractor for Gunvor Raffinerie in Geneva, Switzerland.
Widowed, two children 6 and 8 years old, living with his year-old mother and a nanny in America. Very very romantic letters, it picks you up emotionally, you can't resist this charm. His friends had allegedly paid him most of the huge sum. Then he became very ill because he worked unprotected in the "burial". He tells the work stories very credibly, I have checked these things often. Then he had to go to the hospital, which he never gave up. Then after he was discharged from the clinic had no more money for hotel and food.
Their money picked up his best friend in Istanbul! Not even thanks, he said! That's when I became sensitive and sceptical! In this time the contact was very small. It all happened around Christmas time, he wanted to go home to his children. I should send him another 1. I wanted to see his passport, he was angry because I wouldn't trust him. IP check revealed America, Sunnyvale and nothing with Switzerland or Turkey, time difference 9 hours.
I can recommend image search via yandex, and there I found many websites of him on Love pages with always different names and ages. He only looked at older women, he pretended to be 52 years old. What a ruthless freak! Sent a lot of pictures of himself and his kids. He's only had women in xing as contacts. And now he's active again on the left, with the same photo and name! He was also on xing again and again after breaks, I reported him again and again.
Everyone run away very quickly! They're not worth the time of your life! Aug 12, Rating Thomas lindegaard madsen by: Anonymous I met an oil rig scammer through words with friends. He wanted me to set up a gmail account. Talked to him for a couple days thru the game. Got suspicious when he started signing things love Thomas and calling me dear. I called him on his lies and he kept with the lies. He worked for Diamond oil and gas instead of diamond offshore drilling.
Claimed he was going to be on a rig for five months, when the norm is 14 or 21 days. His child moved from studying in the states to boarding in the UK. Mother American, Father Danish. Then mother died recently. English was more broken if you got him frustrated. Never set up the gmail account. Never told him where I was other than a state. All in all lucky I only wasted two days.
Lynn Yes I have been contacted by Emmanuel Stephen. He has given me the story that he was on an oil rig and that I was the love of his life and that he wanted to come to me and be with me forever. He had two kids Jerry and Jessica.
His wife died of drug and heart complications. They were with a caregiver at the time. Both his parents died. His wife's parents were not in touch with the family. He also shared pictures, which are probably not the sames one, but would be interesting to find out more.
Aug 11, Rating Petroleum Engineer by: Mother is German, Father, American and they live in Berlin. He says he has a home sent me pictures in Los Angeles. English is pretty good, but some grammatical errors. He said that is because he grew up in Germany. He's a very smooth talker "who just lives to talk to me on Instagram.
He hasn't asked for anything, as yet. I'm very skeptical but will chat for the time being. Never would I give him any money or anything. Aug 11, Rating Andy Kay by: He is on the road again, this time on xing and who knows with what other names on other platforms. Chevron's the company he's supposed to be working for again.
Don't you believe these people Aug 11, Rating Carson Roy Jason by: They need to get new stories. We ladies are catching on to their lies. He got nothing from me, but be careful ladies. Aug 10, Rating James by: His machine was always breaking down. Needed a pulley, needed a nut that broke off, needed some kind of oil thing, he had to shut down cause it was leaking in the water.
Sent me pictures that were suppose to be him welding under water a pipe but had gear on so could not tell it was him.
Sent pictures of him in his office and standing by stones and water, and in some Village. He had no one else but me and I was the only one that could help him. He fell and got hurt and needed attention right away so I called the Company and asked them if it was true and they said they had no one by that name that most workers were from Foreign and told me do not send him no more money for he was lying to me.
Found out his mules were sending all the money to Nigeria and I did get one arrested. All the love poems I typed in search and they would come up. His Picture stand in a mall in the Winter was another man's picture also. The one he sent me a few months ago there was another man had the same office and identical with pictures and all. So a friend checked them out and they were photoshopped so its amazing what they will do to get your money.
If he mentions a friend Steve or Mark it is for sure him. But he is in Nigeria trying to get money to buy crude oil to sell. These guys are rip-offs and a lowlife. Please do not give him your phone number for he can order whatever he wants in your name by using it.
Aug 10, Rating Off shore rigs by: His picture is on Facebook. He told me he worked for Chevron: He was divorced and has two children and a nanny who he says that is in the USA illegally from Mexico. I fell for his sweet words then he asked me for money. Yes I did get scammed for a few dollars and was trying to find anything on him.
I even went to TruthFinder and they had no record of a Clinton Barrow. Aug 10, Rating Stories by oil rig scammers by: Anonymous How do the oil rig scammers know the different parts of the rigs and the functions?
They are not Engineers. My only scammer, John Robert who I've found with many other names, told me once he was reading a book about oil drilling in the oceans. I could not figure out why if he was already drilling for oil in the high seas. When asked, he danced around and never gave an answer but I was in love.
I guess they have books to study like he said he was reading the bible. That's how they know about everything they ask for. I didn't because I had no idea he was a scammer. I'd just lost my husband of 45 years and was still mourning him when I was contacted by John who I think picked my name from the Mayo Clinic followers.
He contacted me on Facebook with a sob story about how depressed he was and of course I helped him. When I ran out of money after almost 5 years of promises to repay me , he suddenly was gone but is still sending me a text periodically asking if I have the money so he can return to GA and access his bank.
He made a mistake when I asked him where he was after I had not heard from him for a while. He said he was in GA! Then said he was still in Nova Scotia. He took me for my life savings and most of my retirement. Aug 10, Rating Monetary loss 45, by: Anonymous Ladies, none of them are true and they are all false. I was a victim two years ago I lost much money but by Gods grace I was able to pull through tough times financially and losing thousands of dollars is not easy but it is a big lesson not to be naïve.
There will be a time that these people will be caught. God bless everyone and its been a while since I did post but never forget the lesson that I have paid with my own action using my heart not my brain.
It was a blessing that I did not lose all my property in this world especially my faith in God but thats when you fall and he picks you up. Just because he hasn't YET asked you for money, doesn't mean he won't. He will ask you for something. He is already hinting that he has to make repairs in order to complete his mission and meet you.
He has several options. Or, he will ask for an ITunes Gift Card for software, or he will tell you he has a package to send you and you will need to make the arrangements and pay a fee to the delivery company so you can receive a non-existent package. And it goes on and on. He may also ask you to be his beneficiary!
That is a good one. He was on an oil rig. Took him two months before he asked for money. He was so sweet and loving and loved sexting. He called me his queen, his love, his baby. I was everything to him. The BS goes on and on. Any of this sound familiar???? Read ALL the stories. He is NO different.
He is a lying piece of crap Nigerian scammer looking for nothing but money. Please wake up before you become completely hypnotized by his BS. Your creep is NO different than the rest. Good luck if you still believe him. Anonymous To the person who posted about James this man sounds like all the rest of these riggers as their machines are breaking, they are in the Gulf of Mexico, someone gets hurt and needs help.
I would say he just wants money that is all he wants and the best thing to do is block him and move on. Aug 09, Rating RE: Stop and think about it Anonymous Okay, I have to say this: I work in the oil and gas profession.
I work with both onshore and offshore clients. Let's talk about some "truths" that should clue us all in to these scammers. YES, the oil and gas profession is full of contractors. Here are the big NO's: That's not how the oil and gas contracts work. That does not even make sense. Accidents and bad weather get reported. If somebody gives us these ridiculous stories, we just need to block, delete, and RUN!!!
I work hard for my money I will never be THAT lonely, will you? Think about what is being said to you related to their financial requests for so-called "contract work". Aug 09, Rating All the same by: Aug 09, Rating Dave Eugene Scott by: I am wondering if anyone knows Dave Eugene Scott.
He is an oil rig engineer who is in the gulf of mexico with a contract through Chevron. His rig had a storm go through and damaged the drill bits and clusters. He needs money to get home as he lost his wallet in the storm. He hasn't asked me for any money at all and is actually been very good about that. He says he loves me and wants to get married when he is done with his contract which should be end of October, providing he can get the drilling up and going again.
Dave is 56 and has no family as he was orphaned and raised by a catholic priest. He has a 15 year old son Robert who is in boarding school. Dave's email is crudeoilengr10 gmail. He lost his wife Joan in a car accident 6 years ago. Dave is a real talker and seems so geniune. I suspected right away it was him but played along for a little while. Chris Anderson found me on WWF about a year ago. We stopped playing and communicating after I would not send him any money or Itunes gift cards. WWF ended a long time ago as did Messenger with him. Said he found me playing a mutual friend David and wanted to know why I had blocked him.
He asked me to give him another chance, that he loved and missed me and to unblock him and let's chat on HAngouts or Messenger. Then David disappeared and when I sent him another game challenge he declined!! He stopped playing WWF with me.
I sent him another challenge and he declined!! Third guy was chatting with a friend of mine on Instagram. His name is Patrick Owens. IG name is owenspasddy. So, my girlfriend called me on her land line and put the phone down where I could hear. She called him on Hangouts from her cell, put him on speaker and guess what I had spoken with him on Messenger when we just reconnected and had spoken with him several times in the past.
Unless these Nigerians ALL have the same inflections and voices, I knew that voice and his phrases, and everything. So I set up a fake Instagram and guess who contacts me - Patrick Owens!
He did not recognize the picture I used as it was from a long time ago and was a profile shot from a distance. My hair was different and so was I. Yes, same everything as it was Chris. I chatted with him a few times and then I deleted my fake Instagram account. My friend, yes, she is still playing with him! Why, I will never know.
