I made the sausage balls and I can't believe how good they are. There is a slightly different taste than regular mix but it is negligible.

My wife and daughters even enjoyed them and could barely tell the difference. You need to get creative with the flavor.. The best way to make biscuits so that they rise is to use a mixer with a bread hook. Add 2 cups of carbquick, half tsp baking powder, 1 tablespoon melted butter, and about 1 cup of milk or half heavy cream and half water. If it's too dry when mixing add a little more. It will look and feel like dough you don't want it to feel sticky and it shouldn't stick to your hands much.

If it is sticky add a little more carbquick. Roll it out after you mix it for about minutes or when it looks and feels like dough. Then cut with a biscuit cutter and bake for 8ish minutes or till they look done.. Sometimes I add a little melted butter on top before baking them. Or add a little garlic powder to the mix. It took lots of tweaking and practice to get the recipe right!! We love this product. It takes some getting used to, and I got a lot of my tips from other reviews which I really appreciate.

But I have learned to make the best biscuits, and also made chocolate chip cookies, which are as good as the original Toll House Cookies well almost, and if you haven't eaten the toll house cookies for a while - you'll love these. But we love the low-carb recipes we have come up with, and won't ever go back to real flour. We eat low carb - for health reasons - so this allows us to have more of the things we always felt deprived of. We don't feel that way anymore, because we can have bread when we want it.

I use this mostly for making high fiber, low carb pizza. For anyone on a low carb diet desperate for pizza, this is perfect to curb the craving. I usually make a double batch of the pizza crust recipe listed on the back, which makes approximately a 16" pizza. This crust is more filling that normal pizza crust, so note that you'll have leftovers if cooking for one.

I recommend that you really stretch the dough thin as it does rise a good bit. I par-bake the crust at the temperature listed for about 5 minutes, then I add the sauce. I found this works better than adding sauce from the beginning as to avoid a soggy crust.

Sometimes I'll add butter to the crust at the 5 minute point, which soaks in and compliments the biscuit-y crust nicely. I've had zero GI issues using this product, which is rare for low carb substitutes.
